Marcello was born 1976 in Soest as Half-Italien Boy. After his graduation 1991 from school, he started to play Progressive Trance and Trance on Partys and Events. In the time between 1991 and 1996 he played in difference Clubs, Radio-Stations and Events in Middle and North Germany. He changed to House-Music after it entered in the middle of the 90´s in Germany and UK. In this new style, he saw a future and success, because the people love this rhythmic and melodic style that reminds the best time of the 70´s.
1995 he organized his first Parties the legendaries “House Mill and House Church Nights”. In 1996 he started as a resident in the “Bitches Brew” and some other Clubs and played every night the best of House Music.
1997 was an important year. He opened up the “Luna-Club” in Lippstadt,and invited Top DJs from Europe, like Timo Maas, Hardsequenzer, DJ Quicksilver, Hardy Hard, Jens Lissat, Nathalie de Borah and many others every weekend. In this time he has got a name and created a network together with other DJs and Club owners as a House DJ. In the same time he started a second carrier and became one of Cologne´s most creative producer and remixer.
Between 1998-2003 he worked as resident in Clubs like Witches Brew/Bielefeld, Prime Club/Bielefeld, Grube/Sauerland, Groove Club/Gelsenkirchen and Musik Theater/Kassel. In his leisure time he played in several Clubs, Discos und Radiostations all over Europe. Together with Mike Age he presented his first production in 1998. In the year 2002 he created together with Mike Age, the label “Chicaria Records”, to present a few months later his first vinyl “Hero Superstar” in Ibiza, that was sold more then 1500 times. With “Chicaria” a Label for funky, vocal, tribal and uplifting house had been created. www.chicaria.com
The last 3 years were important for Marcello and “Chicaria”. He played in Dubai, Mallorca and Ibiza as a resident. He started with an own floor in a new mega event named “Ruhr in Love”, organised from I-Motion, they also aim the “Nature One”. They started with the project “Flexy”. With Flexy and his Groovedust Mixes his is represented and played in the whole world since January 2004. The Track Mamasita was No. 1 in Greece, Moldavia, entered in the Top 5 of France and USA-Dance-Charts (October 2004). He was represented with an own Chicaria-Floor in the big event “Ruhr in Love” in Germany 2004 and again in 2005. In the summer he spends the weekends as a DJ in the Privilege – Ibiza.
Further more, Marcello Marchitto is the head behind the releases of Groovedust, Deepstarr or Funkinjection and various remix works for DJ 88 Keys, Superfunk and his label “Chicaria Records”.
It is Marcello Marchitto’s sense for pragmatism that allows him to realise his colourful career. “I’m not aiming for aspects of art. To me it is important that the things fit together. All I want is the right groove when I play. I want my audience to have fun. It’s that simple but complicating in one time!” Sceems like things can be that simple, sometimes.
